Content Gauge

Introduction

Care and cleaning

Introduction
The content gauge is used to indicate the air pressure in the tanks, allowing the diver to know the amount o fair left at all times.
It is connected to the first stage of the regulator through a whip or high pressure tube and indicates what the pressure is with a pointer that moves on a graduated sphere, where the spare area (up to 50 atm of pressure) is marked in red.
It is a device which is mandatory in diving and there are various models to choose from.
Some only show air pressure and others work more like complex electric computers.
It is usually used together with other measuring devices such as the depth gauge and the compass, which also vary according to models and brands.

Care and cleaning:Being a precision instrument, the content gauge requires extreme care, avoiding any rough treatment. It is advisable to:
1. Always make sure it is firmly fixed during dives, as if it is left hanging it is more likely to hit things. Usually it is carried together with the regulator.
2. Clean with plenty of sweet water, leaving it to dry in the shade and storing it wrapped in velvet or a soft cloth so as to avoid scratching.
